No Crow roo collar?

I can understand why they'd want a rooster, it's nice to bet fertile eggs from your own hens to incubate, also roosters can be good protection.
I'd recommend keeping the coop well away from any neighboring fences, also keeping the rooster in its black out box inside at night. They don't just crow when they see the sun coming up, they'll crow when their body clock tells them it's morning which can be any time of the night! That's why I recommend keeping him inside at night.
If your neighbors are friendly maybe try talking to them about it, you could even take them some eggs as a gift

THIS is the reason that backyard owners get a bad name !!!

Seriously ???!!! You KNOW it is BANNED, yet you are going to do it anyway?
I bet when you get caught you will be the one crying over it all but you will have no one to blame but yourself !

You CAN"T STOP A ROO FROM CROWING !!!!!!!!!!! IT WILL STILL CROW

What is the point to having a roo anyway ???
Ugh, I hate catty and over-dramatic people like this. It's owning a rooster, not growing weed.

It's owning a BANNED ANIMAL. Oh yeah, you are in that group too I see from your other post.
Nice to get your own chicks but I bet if there is a Roo ban then there is a Hen limit.

So why not feel bad for the Roo when they have to kill it or re-home it. Good luck with that.
People who don't want to follow the rules usually just let the animal go in some wooded area.

Go work for an animal shelter and maybe you will understand.

btw, you can grow weed here for your own consumption.. but you CAN'T grow a Field full of it. There are rules for a reason.

I have two Bantam roos in collars, one who crows a lot and one only a little. On the quieter fellow, I’d mark a reduction by more than 70% on volume, and maybe 50% on the more frequent one. Its also decreased both of their attempts some what, as they pretty much just do it after breakfast or in the early afternoon.

I actually did volunteer an animal shelter for a bit. It was an SPCA one that was a no-kill shelter. They refused to take in local animals and had a couple senior dogs dying from cancer that they refused to put down. Not a great experience for me.
Unfortunately, I live in a very stuck up area where it is a "bedroom community" and every other resident is a lawyer and when business is slow they either go after their child's teacher for giving their kid an A- or going after their neighbors.
As for my rooster, I was keeping him to breed with my hens for chicks to demonstrate to my 4-H club how Punnett squares work in genetics. I was also going to give my Town's elementary schools fertilized eggs for their yearly incubation project (their normal source of fertilized eggs ended their poultry program). I took extra steps to ensure that my rooster would not be a bother by sound-insulating the coop. Even though he didn't crow during the Town's sound ban (no loud sounds from 8pm-6am), by neighbor still had problems. I have 7 neighbors that border the property. None of them had problems with the rooster during the day and a few even welcomed it. Only one had the audacity to file complaints without even telling us first that the rooster was a problem for them. After the first complaint, I followed through with the arrangements I had already made if this scenario ever were to occur and told the neighbor that the rooster was going to be rehomed in the next couple of days. They complained the day after and then complained again a couple days after the rooster was off the property.
The moral? People will always be assholes whether I follow the law or not. Even now, they can complain about noise or smell with me only having hens and it could still cause an order from Town for me to have to get rid of my chickens. Also, it's important to note that this neighbors is located on the opposite side of the property, over 200 ft. away from my chickens.

Ugh, The law is a dumb law, They let dogs bark all day long and they are just as loud as a rooster, our neighbour has a dog that is always barking and is just as annoying as a rooster ( if not more). They also let a pub play music until twelve and they are so noisy I can’t sleep when they play it. And the fact that it happens like every 2 weeks is annoying aswell. The law is so unfair to roosters and it doesn’t’ even take account on what the neighbours think.

Ok, maybe I need to clear some things up.

I live in an acre of property with friendly neighbours, At night they will go in a rooster box in our shed (Indoors, practically a seperate garage). They will have a no crow collar to be less noisy and I will keep the rooster a relatives house to check how noisy they are. I will take the smallest and less noisy rooster because it’s not like I’m gonna pick any old roo, the amount the rooster crows depends on the individual. So I think as long as I get no complaints, it’s fine.
