Ditto. My biggest problem right now is I'm too pregnant to build new coops for the two pens my husband made for me. Next mission: get husband to build the coop, too.

OMG. Yes, of course you're right. I don't know whose idea it was to lie and tell us it was a nine month process. Hang in there!
 
And then there were 16... I pulled five eggs while candling this evening at day 14. Analysis confirmed blood rings in all five, four of them very early quitters. Fourteen of the 16 remaining show good veining, and two are questionable. Most had air cells on the small side, so I'm dropping humidity over the next three days and keeping fingers crossed. Hoping for the best going forward.

I feel like the odds are against us with our shipped eggs, but 14 with good veining is very good! I had questionable veining in one of mine yesterday and by nighttime the poor little thing had quit and a blood ring was forming. I'm down to 3 of my 6 original shipped eggs.

I agree about the odds with shipped eggs, but I also wondered last night as I caught myself going a bit too fast: I wonder how likely I am to rupture any of these tiny veins in my handling of these eggs? Tough to find the balance between speed ( to get them back in the warmth ASAP) and gentleness.

I did pick mine up yesterday to check the wobbliness of the air cells so it could have been that. Otherwise I candle them without even picking them up. I wouldn't worry about hurrying to do it quickly. It doesn't really take longer than about 10 minutes to candle and they're supposed to be okay for up to 30 although I'd never take that long. My incubator gets back up to temp in 5 minutes or so. Are yours incubating upright?
