Yes, upright in an egg turner. We got a tip from our breeder not only to let them rest upright for 24 hours before starting, but to keep them upright and unmoving the first 48 hours in the incubator before starting the egg turner. I am pretty confident that this has helped our potential hatch rate, given that last time we still had mobile air cells at this stage and at this point I don't have any mobile air cells in any of the eggs that have progressed to day 14. A a couple of the ones that I pulled with blood Rings last night still had mobile air cells, but nothing like our first batch of shipped eggs which had mobile air cells in at least a third of the eggs still at this point.I did pick mine up yesterday to check the wobbliness of the air cells so it could have been that. Otherwise I candle them without even picking them up. I wouldn't worry about hurrying to do it quickly. It doesn't really take longer than about 10 minutes to candle and they're supposed to be okay for up to 30 although I'd never take that long. My incubator gets back up to temp in 5 minutes or so. Are yours incubating upright?
