I've never heard of playing sounds. Do you play them all through lockdown?

I have only used them last hatch and this one. Once I have a pip and hear chirping I will play the sounds as encouragement for the one(s) hatching. I woke up to my first pip for this batch this morning and I started playing a YouTube video called "Chicks Chirping 30 minutes" for it while I took my shower. I have noticed 2 more pips!

This is my first time doing it. I have a delicate variety in there and am trying to give them every boost I can think of.
PS: no pips yet. "You take it on faith, you take it to the heart, The waiting is the hardest part."

This egg had no visible pip at 7: 30am. Then at 11: 06am I took this pic from my security cam:

And while I was driving home (and recording with the security cam, lol) this little girl hatched! Yay!

That's so great! Good thing your security cam is focused on what matters!

Do you folks think it matters that my (forced air) incubator temperature dropped to 98.8 last night while I was asleep? It's an incuview and it has room temperature ranges. My kitchen went below the setting range while I was asleep and the incubator ran cool until i noticed this morning and adjusted it. I feel really frustrated at the moment because I live in an old farmhouse with a lot of fluctuations in temperature and humidity and my incuview is like goldilocks.

Yes, but I can control the cam with the app on my phone.
I doubt that the temp decrease will cause any trouble for any healthy, developing little ones. What day are they on?

That's very cool!

My eggs are on day 12. I've been trying so hard to keep them stable. I don't want crooked toes or any other issues from incubating them out of range.

Yours just went into lockdown yesterday, didn't they? Yes, you have an excruciating, exciting, nail-biting couple of days to go yet, lol.

They should be ok, as it wasn't that big of a drop in the temp. I have heard that it's still ok if they only go a difference of only 1-degree either way from the 99.5 F., and it has happened to me before. I still had the chicks hatch out. Of course I readjusted the temp back to where it should be at as soon as I noticed it.

I have even had the electric go out on me before. I just made sure that the plugs were both in the top of the lid, and then threw towels or one of those baby blankets over the top of the incubator to help keep the heat in. I have a still air one.

The worst part is that i have to go out of town tomorrow afternoon for a long weekend checking on my stepmother in another state. So my teen is managing the hatch. I am confident in her skills and judgment, but I hate missing the action
