October Hatch-A-Long?

Never assume until 4 days late (and it’s happened a week late before), and it fails the float test(never do the float test too early! A tiny pip can fill with water, and...). Then you start an assist to be really sure.

I have a tiny fluffybutt!

The rest of the eggs look like a tiny wrecking ball went through there. I have two more that looked promising at lockdown and one maybe. Today is day 21, hopefully there'll be at least one buddy for her when I get home.

My hatch might be finished, but I have to wait it out a while longer. I'm on day 22, or as my incubator reminds me -1. There are 4 eggs remaining, 2 marans eggs with hard thick shells and my 2 shipped eggs.

I had an assisted hatch last night. The egg pipped and made no progress for over 24 hours. It seemed like the chick was stuck and couldn't turn so I had to help with the zip and let him kick himself free at the end. His back was stuck to the membrane so it was almost like he was glued in.

That leaves me with 15 fluffies and now I'm on butt watch to make sure no one gets pasty.

Gotta say that the easter eggers are probably the cutest. They're the chipmunks.

Sadly after rechecking and making sure that I was right, the chick was dead inside the egg. I guess it died from the low temperature. The earlier ones that are due next week seems to be doing ok except for one. Let’s hope they will make it out. Ok

I’m not so clear on when my 21 days is going to be. I set the eggs late Thursday night on October 4th. My 21 day is the 25th or the 26th? If anyone can help I’ll be very thankful

My hatch is done and my incubator is cleaned and sanitized.

I got 0% on my shipped eggs. Two of them made it to the end but failed to pip and died in their shells. I got roughly 50% on some eggs I bought locally. For my own eggs collected here I hatched 80%.
