That's too bad that David's family wouldn't understand. I think it comes from the fact thqt most Christian's hear the word pagan and immediately think devil worship, which couldn't be further from the truth. I really wish people would take the time to do a little research before they decide to judge someone on the way THEY choose to live THEIR lives. Being a Christian myself, I have very few friends that I can really have a conversation with that isn't laced with "you shouldn't do that". My relationship with God is just fine, thankyouverymuch!

And that's the thing...we believe in God (though acknowledge a female and male aspect of God), we are good people with strong morals.

They have their reasons and aren't rude to us in anyway. They still love us.

(It goes along with the saying, don't talk about politics or religion. Except, we can talk politics with DHs family and religion with mine.

Sorry Pagan's,
But I just can not resist posting in your thread... (Me not being a Pagan and all.)

Like I said in my first post, my experience is Pagans are really a good group and good for society as a whole. Of couse one can not generalize. Their are bad eggs in every Religion/faith/believe structure there is..

I guess I follow and post in this thread because, I support diversity, and learning about other cultures and practices. The more one understands other practices the more tolorant one is.
Make for less wars too!!!

Keep up the interesting conversation.
Yes..Those wedding pictures are great!

Barkerchicken, your wedding pics were just beautiful and such a lovely sentiment with the woven ribbons!!! I love it, and the other things connecting these beliefs to the Mother Earth. Thank you for sharing!

that makes total sense to me! We were created in God's image and there are males and females... Makes sense to me!

Merry Meet everyone,
Glad I found the thread even though I'm a tad late.
I don't follow any particular path I am having a blast trying all kinds of things. I am mostly solitary although I join my DD's coven for ritual once in a while. They would like me to join but I'm really not a joiner if you know what I mean.

Blessed Be!

Lovely wedding photos, so beautiful!

My family is very Christian, and not very open minded. Luckily of all her many siblings, my mother is the most leneant of the bunch, and living in the San Francisco Bay Area and all, you gotta be a BIT lax. Which reminds me of a funny story... My grandparents were missionaries (mother was raised in Bolivia) and for the first time ever, they decided to brave California to visit us for a week. We were driving past the little mall right next to our house, and there's this HUGE bronze statue of a naked woman sun bathing. I remember my Grandma leaned over to my Grandfather and whispered "CHARLES! LOOK" in this horrified voice and I turned to see what they were looking at. They tried to hide my eyes and I was like "What, the naked lady? It's beautiful art!" They were totally flabergasted, of course.

But anyway, my parents kicked me out of the house when they found out I was bisexual. About a month later they relented and let me come home but it's been awkward. However if they found out I was Wiccan, all hell would break loose. My parents would think they had failed as Christian parents, and would probably disown me. Seriously. So I've been having to hide my stuff and can't have an alter or anything like I would like. So I've been looking into locking trunks that, while they are away, pull everything out of and make into an alter for rituals. But they're the type of people to not trust a locked box in my room and would probably smash it to bits to get inside... Sigh. I dont know what to do. It's a bummer.
