Fnf, can you afford to get some linoleum from a hardware or flooring store, maybe a remnant that would fit? You can put it down and that would protect the wood. Even a thick layer of plastic nailed down and some inexpensive adhesive backed tile would work. We didn't put the plastic down on Gurtrude's floor (plywood) that were covered with the tile, but for Gurtrude it works well. When we finally change her floor, years down the road, we'll put the plastic down so we can use the steam cleaner on it to sanitize and get a good cleaning on it without any cleaners. We use a homemade, non toxic cleaner, but steam works a lot better, and the pads are washable. Unfortunately, the steam got between the tiles and warped the plywood, that's why I suggested the plastic to protect the wood. It should last a long time for you with the plastic under tile, or the linoleum. Personally, I think the plastic and tile would be best, it's easier to replace the tile and plastic as needed and the tile won't get scuffed up like linoleum can. The rules aren't all that expensive, either, just shop around for a little bit Ann's find one you like, then look for it in other places that might be less expensive. Be sure to shop for total price for the sq feet that you need. You can score the tile with a box cutter and then snap it to fit where you need it to. One of the few things you learn with indoor chickens, and I can actually feel comfortable suggesting
Super small flock in a semi unique setting, makes for interesting solutions for small spaces. If i had the time and confidence, I could do a blog for keeping chickens indoors
I'm not a blogger, so I'll just throw a couple pennies in the put here every so often
