I have cured her lice infestation (yay!) But I am still really concerned about the feather loss. Hubby said we got six eggs yesterday (and we only have 6 hens), so I am thinking molting is out of the question? Do you think another hen is doing this? I am so worried :hit
I don't think a hen is doing it there is no blood or scabs. Also my self/blue Ameraucanas layed a egg here and there during molt. I have a austrolorp that is doing the same thing no bugs no bully :idunnoI can't explain it

Oh thank goodness the shipment of superworms finally came! I couldn't step out of the door without getting mobbed and even after showing empty hands i still had a herd following me! The faverolles will actually wedge themselves between your feet while you're walking. I might have to try one of those worms for myself! Hobo the dominique hasn't been acting right, almost timid when she's usually a little monster. I picked her up and just a ton of feathers came out so she's molting. Not going to lie its weirding me out, i hate when personalities flip flop! That's why i love the derp herd so much, always derps.;)
Okay what the taters is a derp I give up

She sleeps between two of her brood mates: a speckled Sussex and another Cochin. The two boss hens roost a ways away on a different perch.

Bad I think. Worse than any of the other girls.

Right. No way she pecked the back of her own head. And she is at the very bottom of the pecking order :( I can try to catch the culprit in the act but I am really not home very much. I have school and multiple part time jobs. :(
Not the Cochin they are to nice
