Official Squatch Watchers

Anyone ever have what looked like 2 yolks stuck together? I cracked an egg and the yolk was stuck inside the shell. Like, I had to poke my finger in it to get it out. It came out whole but seemed really big. Of course it broke when it hit the pan. The egg looked normal sized from the outside.
No. but thank goodness it was INSIDE a shell.
We don't need any reproductive problems in our collective flock!

Remember last week when we were taking about our locations and how us squatchers are all (mostly) spread out?

We have a few west coasters.
We got a bunch in "the middle".
Some south easterners.

I'm way over by "the edge".

Yesterday I went to the beach to take a walk.
I must have hit it at just the right time of day because there weren't even any surfers out there.

It was cold (for here) and windy. But it was so pretty and smelled so good.
I took some pictures for you guys.

Beautiful, you make me want to go there!

Newest development on the hen front here.....
Windy is back in gen pop.
The transport crate was left open yesterday after I freed her. It has 3 new occupants. Mice.

Sssooooo that battle is back on!

I am not a mouse fan. They are currently shut in the crate. I will dispose of them later today and place traps etc.

Thinking about getting creative and making a bucket trap, with lid, wire grid about 4" above the bottom and poison in the bottom. Thinking a ramp and a hole high up and a hole in the wire grid should keep them trapped while poison does its job.

Disgusting I know.
I currently have at lease a rat or two coming to dinner right before sunset when I take up the food for the night.
I sets traps.
They laughed.
Someone sprang all 3 traps, licked the peanut butter out of them and chewed one all over.

Set them again the next day.
Sprang 2,
ate the peanut butter,
stole one trap.
Ransacked my own yard looking for it. Nothin.

Peeked over all my neighbors fences (with a monocular no less), didn't see it anywhere!

Then I put out the battery operated electric one.
Accidentally killed a squirrel with that one within an hour.
Put that back in the garage.
Felt too bad.

Then I gathered supplies and made (2) of the ones with the 5 gallon bucket, wire, can coated with peanut butter and ramp.

Heard lots of laughter over them and found the cans licked clean the next morning.

Need more peanut butter...

I never understood how I took being SICK for granted as a child. Needed soup, crackers or a grilled cheese? Boom! It was there. Tissues? Ginger Ale? Bam! Put in a steamy bath and put back into bed with clean bed sheets?! There it was.....

........and I never knew where all my throw up disappeared to... it just.... vanishhhhhhed........

ANywhoo, checking in with my babies. How is everyone? I will check in periodically throughout the day, as I plan on taking MANY breaks from *cleaning* my House of Ill.... (don't put repute in there!!!)

Forgot to say I don't want to use poison because of my dog.

FNF,
I have had what I would consider very large yolks. Never actually stuck to the shell but certainly big enough to take notice. The eggs have been normal sized.

Was it like 2 distinct yolks or one overly large yolk?
I'm not sure. I was so surprised it was stuck. I jiggled the shell a little and it didn't come out so I actually stuck my finger between the shell and the yolk. It came out then and as it fell to the pan it looked big and maybe 8 shaped but all together. When the yolk broke it leaked more then splattered. So it was still sorta round. Looked like a lot of yolk in the pan too so it made me wonder. I ate it. LOL Tasted fine. I'll keep an eye for any more odd balls. It was an Olive egg.

She said she didn't do it. Was trying to clean it up, honest! Maybe I'd believe she had a runny nose?
