He's 2 yrs old. I found him as a kitten in the parking lot where I work. Skin and bones and covered in fleas. Lured him with bits of cheese. Left a trail of it going inside a door we propped open. I kept him in my office the rest of the day, brought him home that night and the rest is history

Ah! Long ago I had a cat named Little Girl! His name is Little Man. He and our dog Sawyer are best buddies and our Calico cat likes him when it's convenient for her.
She knew she was in a loving homeOur calico cat was a rescue too. My DH took the trash out one bitter cold night 8 yrs ago and heard a kitten crying. We used the trail of food thing then too. Propped open the back door and hid behind it. Once she was in we closed the door and she has never gone outside since. She hid under our couch for 3 days then sauntered out like she'd always been there.
That's cute was she littleAh! Long ago I had a cat named Little Girl!

, it should get better, as long as you have a good relationship with your mom outside of the arguments and yelling. Somehow rescue animals seem to know they were saved and are grateful. At least that's what I choose to believeMy rescue stories:
Our first cat adopted my husband at work when we lived in Hawaii. One day he called and said "There's this cat at work..." I said "bring it home," he said, "come get it." I went to get her, brought her home and promptly let her shred the shower curtain. DD#1 named her Sassy. This was in 1994, and we estimated her at 2 yrs old. She spent the rest of her life with us, 20 yrs. We finally had to put her down when she was 22. DD#1 now has a 5 yo tuxedo named Adaline, who is her therapy cat.
We also have 2 rescue dogs right now, one is a service dog, the other is learning to be a therapy dog. Our other dog is a mixed breed that we got specifically from a breeder, but not a typical mix, he's Anatolian shepherd/border collie. My other two dogs I've had were rescues as well. They've all been good pets, and I couldn't ask for better from any of them.
