Official Squatch Watchers

I skip a lot, esp after the weekends so I figured I just missed something. Your balut thread was really interesting, but very fast moving. It would have been nice if I could have just seen your posts... not that other people's input can't be useful, but sometimes it's hard to wade through hundreds of messages at 10/ page. If you do get them to hatch, let us know, please. & I have no idea what horse eggs are, but good luck!
As soon as the horse eggs hatch I will try balut again.
The two horse eggs are simply wild/abandoned/stray chicken's eggs that I spotted at my horse stables. I found two eggs and put them in the bator!
We are on day 6...everything is looking good so far.:fl

Morning Misty. Not putting good because i have to bury or cremate the bunny. AND BECAUSE MY USED BATOR WAS UP TO 133°F this morning. I am just sick about a bator full of guinea eggs cooked. I dread finding out what the third catastropy will be. :sick

Speaking of bunnies...
Remember my dingbat neighbor with the bunnies in the filthy hutches?
That I CLEANED AND RETROFITTED WITH HARDWARE CLOTH TO KEEP THE RATS OUT?:barnie

Well....
Guess what?
Surprise. Baby bunnies.

Now before I go any further I should tell you this woman is a nurse.
A LABOR AND DELIVERY NURSE no less.
So one would surmise that if she knows she has one of each gender living in SEPARATE hutches, they are SEPARATE for a reason.
She did NOT want babies.

She is telling her friends on Facebook that it is a “miracle”. :wee:ya

She came over to tell me about it and when I asked her how that happened she opened her eyes, REAL WIDE, like this emoji ,
And said “we don’t know! We let them play together so they don’t get lonely and they play ‘humpy’ sometimes,
But I swear I haven’t seen any LOOOOVE MAKING!”

:th:th:th:th

I said (name redacted just like on the news),
“You know that expression QUICK LIKE A BUNNY?”

She stared at me wide eyed like she was having trouble following.... -insert cricket sounds here.

I said , :old “I don’t think they MAKE LOVE, they just DO IT.
Real quick. Like BUNNIES.”

She made her mouth like an “O” and just let that sink in for a minute while her brain caught up, then said,

“Well I guess, in the future, we shouldn’t let them play together anymore then, right?”
Have they been taking care of them since you cleaned them up?

Lucky you. I need to start a thread, "HELP my incubator went up to 133°! Are my keets dead?"

LOL I was thinking horse eggs were a nickname for some special fancy egg I'd never heard of. That's really exciting. I hope they hatch so you can see what it came from.

Wow, so maybe the other guy didn't mess with it? Did you ask the original owner about it?

I stepped on a live tropical fish in my bare feet once, in my bedroom. Not something you want to try.
I did that once. We had a cat that would sit on the top of the fish tank and well, fish. She’d flick them out through the hole needed for the filter.
Once took a dried up fish from the dog too. Thought she had a piece of foil, all shiny and silver. Nope, dead fish.

Yeah, so i get home late after being gone all day and evening and one of my 8 week old bunnies was dead! WTF?!
Super bummed. It had always been the smallest and skinny. 7 babies is a big litter. But if it was going to go, why now? Idk. Tomorrow all those babies are getting checked. They have been lively and eating well. Still in with their Ma. View attachment 1355503
I think this is the one that died. There were 2 the same color.

:hugs God Cap. That is rough.
I lost a couple baby buns to a sudden high heat day no one saw coming. It was 60's for a couple weeks then BAM 104 hit while I was at work. Horrible just horrible. :hugs

I'm sorry Cappy, we've all been having losses, it seems like. I've been lucky that none of mine have died, but while I was out with DDs#3 & #4, we drove past a small brown animal that had been hit by a car. It was obvious that it had not survived, but it also had a small, blue collar. I turned around because I couldn't just drive by and leave it in the middle of the road. I wrapped him up on a plastic bag because it was all I had, and I took the collar off so we could call the owner. He wasn't even old enough to have his rabies tag, and I made sure to have the owners promise they wouldn't unwrap him, because he was not recognizable as their puppy, he was barely recognizable as a dog. All we could do is let them have him to put to rest, let them know that he didn't suffer and cry with them. I made sure DDs didn't see him, I hope his family didn't look at him, I don't want that to be the last thing they remember of him. :hit:hit:hit:hit

You know....... The world could use more people like you. :hugs

:he

No they should not "play" together. :smack
