Official Squatch Watchers

Where are you selling them from I need to do the same here
I go to swaps ( but i never seem to have any long enough to sell at swaps) , i post on Craigslist, i put posters with tabs that people can tear off with my number at feed stores, and i hand out my new business cards every chance i get. The less $ i spend on feed before i sell them, the better!

Awww I hope it's going to be ok. Did you get a pic of it?

Wow... I love the running away w/ his arms in the air, like a cartoon. I actually laughed out loud.

Gasp! Is that our gang tattoo? Unfortunately I already have that ankle embellished. Are you guys seriously vacaing w/o the rest of us?!

That's awesome! Is this a 'for sale' item, or something you made for home use?

What's up w/ the piggies? Any expectations of babies?
I made the feeder for my own use. But you can bet i will be looking for more parts to make additional ones! I wouldn't mind selling them.

So, my rib problem was actually a back problem. One of my thoracic vertebrae was out of alignment which was pinching the nerve along the rib that is connected to it. My resting pain level is higher (before I almost felt normal while resting, maybe 1-2 on the pain scale, but now it is a constant ache of a 3-4) but when I move, I don't get this pain of 7-8 where it feels like someone stabbed me in the back. It just feels like a pulled muscle now. I call that a net win. I have another appointment in 2 days.

I'm considering trying to get a 1/2 dz pure eggs so I'll be more likely to find a home for any unwanted birds if they all happen to hatch, but I'm also worried that if I do that she'll give up before they hatch.

I think it all depends on what happens with your egg number one. If all her current eggs quit / don’t develop, then it is still not too late to buy her new eggs to replace the old. Pyxis’ broody hatching article says she normally lets first time broodies sit on fake eggs for a week before they get real eggs, and it never causes them to give up early. My Bubbles sat for almost 10 days before I could get her fertile eggs. No problems.

If 1 or more of your eggs remain viable, then adding more eggs will be a bad idea. They will be behind the others in development, and once babies start hatching mom will abandon the nest (even if there are still viable eggs in it). Babies (not eggs) will be her priority.

If you are worried about her only having one chick, but want to let her keep her current viable egg(s), you might consider buying her a few day old chicks. You could slip them under her at night after her egg(s) finish hatching.

Hi Squatchers! Love all the signs of spring! It is great to hear everyone’s gardening and hatching updates. Rae, sorry about the injury, but glad you are starting to feel better. RJ hope you get water restored soon!

My babies are now 3.5 weeks old. Time to start integration soon...but I am so scared! In good news though, my white Cochin broke after only two days in the broody cage so the main group is all back to normal now.

Babies!!!

@apryl29 ,I did not get a picture of my cardinal buddy not that I didn't want to but I didn't know if it was going to make it and I didn't want to photograph a doomed bird. I saw and heard it hit the pole it hit pretty hard honestly I wasn't expecting it to be ok at all lol. I learned cardinals are tough little taters. I don't know about these last two chicks at all, i'm starting to wonder if hubs shook the eggs. Ray chick flogged my hand because I was holding a lighter and Duece is nervous and kind of mean like her mom was at this age. The first chicks despite two being boys are still just chill. Iv'e got to get a pic of them hanging out with their dad in the morning it is just too cute "for now" lol.:)

Babies are about to experience their first big storm. Poor things. Their run is mostly cover though and they have mom. Still...might need to go check on them. For my own sake

Hey @CapricornFarm did I see on another thread that it is your anniversary today? Happy Anniversary!!! Treat yourself to another incubator :lau
