I'm aiming for more of an outpatient/ clinical setting. I've worked in both hospital and clinic, and have seen the RN responsibilities in both. I feel more comfortable with the clinical, and feel that is where I can have the most impact in the everyday lives and health of the patients, and the well-being of their families through the well-being of the patient. I prefer working with chronic, long term health issues instead of the more acute, hence the diabetes and endocrinology.

@Anansi What about a rehab type facility? People on accidents often need nursing care while recovering and a place that will do physical therapy. In Ohio at least, that is now a seperate place from the hospital. A person there might needs meds given and wound care while they heal from an injury. So it wouldn't be the same every day and slower direct care is what the patient would need.

I know we just had a whole discussion about sadness ,
But I have a very soft place in my heart for hospice workers....
Giving that kind of care and compassion at the end of a person’s life journey...
It takes a very special person! I can't even imagine how hard it would be. The same with a nursing home. To be in their lives at such a time would be both wonderful and heartwrenching. I've dealt with hospice workers 2x and both times have been wonderful experiences. I was so greatful for their insite and reassurance.
