@staceyj pictures are always helpful. But maybe Blu-Kote, let that dry, then do superglue. If it is something in the Blu-Kote rewetting the superglue maybe doing it the other way would work?
The good aspect was it allowed me to easily peel the super glue completely off. But it just wouldn’t hold!

In retrospect perhaps I should have used the hairdryer for five minutes?

Also the back of her comb isn’t connected to her head.
And it’s very heavy and jiggly.

After cleaning.

Then tried the glue. And bluekote.

Fail.
On to stitching.

One side done.

Other side

All done on that side but still thought I should anchor the back in case someone grabbed her and yanked.

All done.

Applied more bluekote with a q-tip all around.
Hugs and kisses galore and a handful of meal worms.

@staceyj Dang fine job! I don't even have a comb but seeing that made my scalp hurt! My worm is gone, the neighbor took it to show his son. I told him to dispose of it and not to let it go or let the kid play with it. He will either have to burn it or flush it, you can't cut or drown them. They can breathe water and cutting just makes two instead of one. Loads of them this year, guess due to the rain. The older chickens know not to partake but I do worry about the littles.:(

Woooh— I have yet to do stitches. Great job!
Here’s what I learned.
1. I need actual suture needles!

I have tons and tons of sewing needles but the only ones I have that are really sharp are embroidery needles.
Even a curved carpet needle would have been better than an embroidery needle.

And the eye wasn’t big enough for the fishing line that I have. So I had to double my thread.

2. Comb flesh is SUPER tough! Like I cannot process how hard Rosie yanked her to tear it in the first place!

Once you decide where you’re inserting the needle, you have to REALLY REALLY

COMMIT.
Then just push. But keep your fingers out of the way.

And also when you pull the margins together to tie it off don’t make it too tight. You want to allow for a tiny bit of swelling.

That is the grossest thing I’ve ever seen or heard of.

Terrible tater worms! That's the biggest one iv'e found, there were two smaller ones I put in everclear to get rid of. I don't like them just hanging around on the surface one bit. They say that they don't/can't bite people but I don't want to take chances since they pack such an awful neurotoxin.
