Have you seen the kind of cone that isn’t a cone but more like a blowup neck donut?

I haven't seen those. I wonder if it is sturdy enough to stand up to attempted ear scratches....

I was up and out at first light. I picked about 30 pounds of peaches and cleaned the big coop. Those were things I had needed to do yesterday. I am less frustrated now that they are done. There are still a bunch of peaches out there but they need a couple more days.

It rained last night so to muddy to have my dogs outside. It should dry out quickly since we are forecast to be hot again.

Sssoooooooo many peaches! I will have to process them for sure since there are way to many to just eat.

One day I'll have peach trees...

It is hard to grow fruit here. With late frosts, fireblight, hail, wind, low water we only get fruit about once every 5 years or so.

Where you live it should be much easier. Just remember to thin like crazy and prune like a maniac.
I took off about 80% of the fruit that set and still got a LOT of fruit.

I may try plums since they are said to be more reliable.

Plums like to bloom early ,then a frost kills off the blossoms. :(

My peach tree i planted this year died. I think they are difficult trees.

I have had good luck growing the trees. They just rarely get to fruit. The one that broke had a weird growing pattern. Just how that big ole section was attached was destined to break.

I will have to do a lot of research into which will grow here. I don't want to plant more duds on our very small lot.

Good luck! I planted plum trees any way because hubby loves plums.
