Gotta get off this board now! Hubby getting restless.

But.....The Great EggSperiment is on! I set 11 suspect Lafayette-schmoo'ed eggs in the bator today. They look like they are AC eggs, but could be Silkie mixed in.

I have 11 more that are going in the bator tomorrow that are definitely not all AC eggs. Again, could be Silkie, may even be from Flower, but that is less likely.

I will start candling on Day 3 and every day after. I figure, if I see no activity after a week, then they get tossed!

Wish me luck! :flI may just wind up with a partially black-skinned, feather-footed, black combed, mille-fleur-looking mutant, lol!!!

Part of why I'm a cleaning lady. It's not glamorous for sure but there is virtually no stress. I don't have a boss breathing down my neck or a strict schedule. As for the gross part-- yeah it can be but that's what disposable gloves and soap are for.

I thought about applying at the hotels close by. Nope not glamorous but WAY cleaner than industrial chain lube and assorted grime ground into the hands.

It's a very respectable job.

DD enjoyed working the front desk at a hotel. Money wasn't great but not bad either. After graduating with a criminal justice degree she got a job launching satellites. Go figure... She quit to have 1st baby and is still a stay at home mom.

I know Marriott takes good care of their employees and those who bubble up get lots of opportunities. Don't know much about the other chains.

I wouldn't go for a hotel personally. I have done houses and they are not my favorite but the money is better. Offices after hours are quick and easy and generally cleaner then most places.

More moons ago than I care to count I did housekeeping in Estes Park. Total tourist trap.
It wasn't bad, mostly families traveling.

The hard part would be that I hate cleaning lol.
it would be a paycheck so that would make it doable.

I wouldn't mind working at a fabric store. Just gotta figure out how to get my foot in the door.

A funny store re: an interview......

When I interviewed at the job I last had the owner told me he didn't believe even half of what was in my resume. I figured it was a "no" so told him in no uncertain terms to offer me a tatery wage then and let me prove it.
I started the next day.
Two weeks later I got a $2 increase. A month later I got another $2 increase and title of product lead. A year in and I got a nother $2 raise and $3,000 bonus.
4 years in and he sold the business to the head of sales. No raise for the next 5 years. Lots of bad treatment, lots of OT and weekends, lots of added responsibility etc etc etc.
When I quit I was in charge of the floor, the only QC person, the one customers asked to have fix their equipment, the only trainer AND supposed to take tech calls.

Yeah I was making good money BUT wages everywhere were going up......local fast food joints are starting people at 11-12 an hour.

I definitely don't need the high stress job.

21 when I moved to my last real job, I moved down the food chain ($40K down the food chain)... I wanted a break from the responsibility of others. I wanted to go home at the end of the day and not take it home with me. And that worked for a couple weeks... Once I got bored I started growing again..and again.. and again.. I ended up with over 150 employees and a sustainable $26M/yr program. I was working 12 hours per day six days a week. In one of my interviews I was asked "what was my greatest professional accomplishment" My answer was simple... all 155 people got a soft landing. I found them all jobs before I left... Just didn't find one for me.

Well, past getting chicken supplies this morning iv'e not done much else at all lol! I fully plan on coop cleaning tomorrow it needs the full monty. Thinking about painting the inside white or yellow maybe both since I have those colors already. Not for prettiness but so it won't be so dim in winter. Fun observation, the rooster doesn't even come to Hobo's eggsong. He looks but it is like he knows its a trap. That is one smart fella.:caf

You could go with white and big yellow yolks.... I mean dots.

:gig

Seriously though.... Brightening it up is a great idea. I would use both so it's not just all white.

I might not have a choice Henny, iv'e got about half a can of each lol! Iv'e got some pink around here too possibly purple if it hasn't dried up. Iv'e got to do it, that wood is so dark even with a window it is hard for them to navigate. I painted the roosts and ladder months ago, so I need to finish it.:)
