Oh my, I’m so sorry for you Nunny. What a sad day.Well-- I went to the old house to check on everyone there and Trouble my rooster was d.o.a. I thought the molt was making him not feel well. Guess it was more then that. Of course Taterhead is still alive and well and being a taterhead.
I also picked up a pool noodle I had there for Glayds. Maybe leg supports are in order.
Me too Cappy. I like my lunch meat realllllly thin. They do that at food lion, but not usually shaved the way i like it.
I don't have a regular vet anymore. The vet my parents used before they had human children was the vet we all went to for years! Literally my whole life. He retired. I would have asked him in a heartbeat. He probably would have tried to treat the chickens for me. The last time I went to the vet was for the dogs yearly. I took a 2 hrs drive 1 way to go there. I know that seems rediculous but it's a vet I trust and the prices (even with gas included) are about 1/2 what I would pay close to home. Given the chance I'd like to build a report with this vet. Its just harder at once a year and 2 hrs away.nunny you might want to call your regular vet and see if he/she will do a referral if that's what you want to do.
I had a migratory red tail hawk show up tonight. I found myself screaming at one of my pullets who was just oblivious. But my local crows did fly byes and she ran to cover. All of my other birds were under cover at the first crow warning. Not her, she was just goin about her business.
My mom used to tell them she wants to read the paper through it. LOL That got the msg through.Me too Cappy. I like my lunch meat realllllly thin.
Cheese -don’t care. But please! don’t hand me thick ham.
I am not trashing the veterinary profession at all but I have had trouble building rapport with vets here. I miss my “country vet practice” that I had in Virginia.I don't have a regular vet anymore. Oh yeah. That’s my favorite. My mom used to tell them she wants to read the paper through it. LOL That got the msg through.
No one deserves to feel bad about taking their animal to the vet or asking questions to better understand. I really hope you find someplace better soon, with people that care as much as you doI am not trashing the veterinary profession at all but I have had trouble building rapport with vets here. Things have changed on the business end of veterinary medicine since the field has gone to daytime vets/ nighttime and weekend regional emergency vets.
IMHO, Pets are like human kids. They don’t get sick or injured mon-fri 9-6.
They save that stuff for the weekend.
I’m struggling to hold on for just a few more weeks with the practice I’m in.
I don’t feel at all cared about as a client or customer or pet parent or whatever the term is nowadays.
I also feel like they smirk when I ask intelligent questions or disagree in any way.
I’m currently researching.
