I felt the same way about Odin.. he was fine at first then something just turned. Then he got really bad. I don't think it's anything w/ that particular bird, it's just like that sometimes. The 2 lavs were huge, but even so they never gave me any problems. I assume it's something hormonal, maybe too much testosterone or some other chemical issue. I doubt there's anything to that you could do about it.I feel a little better at least he will be used.
As much as I hated him I couldn't kill and eat him. My plan was if no one had taken him by them time I moved everyone else I was going to cull and leave his body in the woods to be eaten by something else.
I wish I knew what went wrong in his brain. With his loss I know have 1 of the original 7 swedish flowers I hatched. Maybe there is something wrong with the blood line....
That sounds about right.Ouch. My mom likes to say that God made cockerels jerks so you don’t feel bad about killing them.
That's so strange. Is the sour crop cleared up now?I know. He's the first to go that wasn't physically ill. That's what I'm struggling with.
Gladys isn't doing so good either. Another one of the cuckoo Marans is also showing signs of leg problems.
When I put everything in the symptom checker mostly deficiencies or malabsorption come up. A viral infection is also possible but down the list.
Gladys was doing better when she was getting mackerel but I had to stop it when her crop soured. I was giving poly-visol but I don't think it's the right vitamins and minerals.
She got salmon for breakfast so I'll see how it goes. She seems perfectly happy but I know not being able to walk is no life.
