Oh how todays DSS would have been overrun if the rules of today were applied back then.......

Actually DSS did get involved when I was a kid........maybe I was feral more than free range.....

Still lived through it all.....sanity is yet to be determined.
 
Lol! No kidding. My Mom's favoriate saying was " go outside and play in traffic kid". There was no traffic, but I stayed outside...unsupervised.:oops:

I ran barefoot through the woods unsupervised. Only way my parents would know if someone took me would be if i didn't show up by dark.
 
ran around unsupervised to my misfortune but did wear shoes. The wild spots in Chicago were just vacant lots with broken glass, many types of scrap and garbage and some neat bugs to put in a jar. That was wild honestly. Saw a blue jay once and thought OMG what is that?
