Official Squatch Watchers

I lost a chick. Two days ago we moved the 12 chicks from the stationary coop to the winter coop with the main flock. One of the chicks was mostly nekkid and was half the size of the next smalles chick. That chick died today. I think it wasn’t hearty enough to make the transition away from a heat source. Which is sad. It was doing so well yesterday.

that does happen sometimes!

:hugs

Guess who is getting yet another scent of febreeze, mothballs and some wierd skunk offending spray? If you guessed me, you are correct! If I die from chemical exposure avenge me. Come to my house and release every skunk you can find, but liquor them up and tell them they had an ugly mother first so they are fighting mad.:lau
Get OdoBan or Zorbex. They are both odor eliminators with out the potpourri from hell scent. There is a Fabreeze in an unscented too. Adding a scent over another scent is nauseating.
Zorbex gets my vote.

I know, like a layer cake of terrible granny perfume ugh. When I was working i'd get this stuff called Ona to eliminate scents worked really good. I told him we'd get some tomorrow there is a hydro/gardening store that sells it pretty close. I'm guessing he'd rather kill us a little more, his shenanigans are 10x worse smelling than the skunk.:barnie

Yeah, it does. What makes it a little more sad is that one of the larger pullets from that coop had literally had literally taken that one under her wing. After the initial move I checked on the nekkid chick and that pullet had it tucked up under her wing. During the day, she was keeping close to the nekkid chick and defending it. After it died, she was hanging around the body, occasionally pecking at it gently like she was asking it to wake up. I had FIL take care of the body since I’m preggers, but I had gone out to check when I got back and observed that behavior. I wish I had thought to tag her since she seems to have good maternal instincts.

Thanks RJ.
I really didn't expect any of the tow yard birds to make it this long.

I wondered about your nekkid one Rae.
It really sucks that it couldn't make the move.

I hope your sweet gal gets to be a mom someday.
