Noy only is it the solstice but it's our wedding Anniversary.....32 years!!!
Happy anniversary!
Another option is using the meat as dog food and making stock from the bones. After I make stock (which means simmering the bones at least 3-4 times overnight with a little vinegar) I run the bones through my handcrank meat grinder (which turns it to mush) and feed that to my pigs and chickens. Its a great source of calcium.
We do that too except after blending the bones the blender, my dog gets a good glob of "bone slop" in her food dish every meal for a couple days. She LOVES it. Our other dogs always loved it too before they passed away.
I love your turkey photo.
Thank you! His name is Mister. He's a big sweet boy but after he tried to take leadership of the flock from Romeo, he had to be banished and now lives with a few chickens and a single hen of his own lol.
i am so excited for Christmas! what is your favorite part?
I love everything about it! The beauty, the family, the cookies, the lights, everything.
Speaking of which, I'm baking my last batches of cookies tonight. Chocolate chip and snickerdoodles
