If I’m going to use liguid I’ll use the Elector PSP. I’m more worried about the temperature. Current forecast is a high of 39* on Monday but we then go to a high of -2* on Wednesday. Low of -12*. Supposed to be warmer temperatures a few days in a row next weekend. Not sure I should wait that long.
How the Pat crow did they get mites in winter!?!
I don’t know if this would be temporarily more appealing for you because I’m a big fan of spray for bug too, but in light of your current weather forecast, there is garden an poultry dust with sort of a nozzle tip.
It’s not terribly effective as a means of application but it beats the kind that comes in the Parmesan cheese container!
As an option you could stop at the dollar store and pick up some ketchup squeeze bottles to use.
Use a funnel to transfer from the Parmesan cheese shaker container into this squeeze bottle and go to town squirting around.
Please do this in your garage or on the porch.
Tie a rag around your mouth and nose.
Shower ASAP afterwards.
The dust is very fine like baby powder and using it creates a cloud. It settles fast, but the object it for it NOT to settle IN YOUR LUNGS or ON YOUR SKIN.
Birds are easy. Pour a bunch of the powder in an old thin sock rubberband it closed and use it like a powder puff.
Pits, vents and neck, and middle of back.
Bag and dispose of whatever material you have in the nesting boxes in particular. The SPRINKLE LIBERALLY in the bottom of the nesting boxes plus a squirt on top for good measure.
Get the spray kind too and with an old rag, spray and rub down each plane of the roosts. Shirt the powder around where the roost connect to the walls or wherever.
Cracks and crevices are key in my opinion.
As soon as the weather breaks, clean up all bedding, (bag and dispose of), and re-treat everywhere with the spray.
