Official Squatch Watchers

Lol! Yeeeah dogwoods pretty pink and white ones!
Real dogs are safe, the worse they get is a car ride and a jail bond.
Here if you turn in a nuisance owned dog it costs 40 dollars to reclaim the pet.
If you don't, in 30 days the dog goes up for adoption if it isn't mean.
Since they did that my loose dog issues are next to nothing.:)

OH MY GOD!!!!

When my 2 boys got out it cost me a grand in court fines and 300 bucks bail!!
:th

I spoke up about lack of predators around and wouldn't you know 2 big dogs greeted me in my yard when I came out of the coop today.

Hackles up and barking as they sauntered over like they own the place. Collars but no tags.

That could explain they extra poop I swear isn't from my dogs.

I guess I'll be looking into fencing....
Menards closer to home can't open soon enough.
Any idea who they belong to?

Me? No! Heavens no!

I am about 2 miles from the edge of town in any given direction. I don't think the city will let them come this far in.

Coons, owls, fox and hawks yup we have all of those.
I do hear of coyote on the west end of town from time to time. The East, North and South are all full of shopping centers and highways.
Coyotes are known to range right into cities at night.
I thought I had a good thing going with the neighbor having the two LGD until I saw them grooming a daylight possum.
Just licking that possum like it was sugar coated, possum was more ok with it than i'd have thought.
Needless to say I don't think they're as much help as I thought they were.:hmm
Possums seem to like eggs more than chicken IME. Though they will kill a chicken, especially young ones. My dog won't be washing any possums, rather grab 'em. 20181015_150632.jpg

It happens, just depends on how smart the LGD is. As a general rule coyotes will avoid and LGD, but what they sometimes do, is send one out in hopes the LGD will follow it and the others lay in wait. My neighbor has lost two or three (not LGD) to that approach. When my LGD encounters anything bigger than a fox, he uses his voice to scare off the offending animal from a safe distance. It seems to work. :idunno Unfortunately, I have the full selection here. Skunks and Opossums working in broad daylight looking for food.
In TN we had Foxes breeding in the hollow behind the house. They were bold about snatching chickens in broad daylight while the LGD slept!

I saw a post on FB about coyotes taking out someone's LGD.

I haven't seen or heard any by me but I don't doubt there out there. Only thing I've actually seen predator wise is hawks.

Not even flat version of any of the others on the road by me.
That is why they say multiple LGDs are best. Especially if you have a young dog.
