Official Squatch Watchers

Anyone else have Winter Aconite? Love this flower. Its tbe first to bloom in my yard....before the helebores, before the snowdrops, before anything else starts to even pop up. They also spread like crazy View attachment 1704781
Oh! They are so pretty!

I was thinking on the cone issue. Heard you can make a cone out of sections of a pool noodle. Maybe do that and attach to the other cone?
I think that would work well for a dog.
For a cats little neck I think I’d need something much smaller in diameter. Maybe like the foam you wrap pipes in. Problem is I can’t leave him to go out searching for anything today. No one else is here.
I don’t trust him to not get himself frantic and all tangled up and choke himself to death while I’m gone.

Or just get his contraption off and chew out the stitches.

I take it off a few times a day while he eats and uses the litter box.

This morning I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone
Since his “stuff” is in the hall bath.

So I decide to pee while he’s eating.

Then he starts grooming himself a little. But all of a sudden focuses on his boo-boo.
Then he starts nibbling!

He’s just out of reach.
I scold him!
He squints at me as only a cat can do.
Starts nibbling harder while staring me down.

I had to take the TP off the holder and bean him with it.

He
did.
Not.
Care.
Went back to nibbling.

I had to waddle to grab him and retrieve the TP.

He got the long ends off one of the stitches but not the knots.

Might have to put a drop of Krazy glue on that to keep it from coming undone.

Sigh.

Dogs with stitches are much easier than cats I think.

Can you wrap the leg with vet wrap and duct tape over that?

A college educated man I worked with said that the first several eggs a pulley lays are no good...... "They are full of icky stuff"......

No not educated in animal husbandry or ever even had a pet.

I crack mine in a bowl.....some meat spot or blood spot may be present.....I just toss those.

Never had an issue from eating first eggs so I personally think it is some old superstition or something.
I know what you mean.. and when I googled it, that's all that came up. I do the same thing... I'll eat them, but I don't sell/ give them to others b/c of that. I had a friend buy eggs from another friend and she asked me about it b/c she didn't want to offend the other friend (she's known me forever)... I told her what it was and that it's ok to just pick it out & it'll be fine. When my girls restarted I'd see some bits in some of them too...
But this was different.. it wasn't a 'don't eat their first eggs' it was you have to let the eggs sit for a couple of days before you can eat them. Like you have to wait until Wednesday to eat an egg that was laid on Monday type of thing.

I know Ron that's why I'm freaking out! She's gonna be like a giant in my little small-birded flock, lol.

She has a very spunky personality. I like her so far. Are they friendly birds?
Just hope she's a girl... a big boy will be too much for your little girls.

I'm not laughing at you, I swear! :lau
Could you try to put some NFZ puffer on it? They have it at tractor supply. I can't remember if I've told this story here, but.. I had a cat who got bit by something on the back leg and it left a huge gaping hole. The vet shaved it and pick off all the scab skin leaving a huge hole w/ leg muscle exposed. The cone of shame wouldn't stay on his stupid head and he kept licking it. I got the puffer stuff and he left it alone and it healed fairly quickly. It has numbing stuff that helps with the itching from the healing.
