Official Squatch Watchers

Yup, fortunately, the local health inspector is willing to work with us. But if it gets too complicated, she might have to talk to her superior who apparently is a real stickler and might try to make an example of us. We know that ignorance of the law is no excuse, but how were we supposed to know the order of things?

Personally I put a lot of responsibility on the place that sold the homes.
They certainly should know and share with buyers the steps needed and the order of them.
It is what they do daily after all.

Yeah, precisely. What I wouldn't have done for a handout while we were waiting for the loan to go through that said "Here are steps you need to take".

Totally! Such a simple thing could avoid so much anxiety and frustration.
Have you been in contact with them about this.
Maybe they could be motivated to do that for future buyers.
It doesn't help you but certainly could help others.

I hope you see this! It would be funny if you were ignoring me.....

Two ways are:

When you see the post with the ignored content message, you can un ignore there.
The second way is to go to their profile. There will be a place to stop ignoring the person

There is a third way! at the top of the page, or after clicking on the more button, click on account and then account settings. There will be a link to people you ignore. The setting can be changed there
It was you, but I have no idea how it happened!!! I fixed it though.

@Chickassan your babies are precious!!!

Hen, who needs a name, drank lots of water on her own. She will eat yogurt and crumble mixture off my finger, but not out of the bowl. I put a bag on her backside and she let me hold her and stroke her head, but no poop. Her wattles are a pretty red. She is only 4.5 pounds, so maybe a couple of pounds underweight. She is thin.
I'd make sure she's got feed in the cage. It kind of sounds like she's had a lot of wet food & there's nothing to bind her poo together. Even if it's mash it'd probably help solidify things. Glad that she seems to be eating & drinking on her own now. You might consider letting her out of the cage for a bit in the garage to walk around. I know when I had Klaus caged up every time I'd let her out for a bit to walk around while I cleaned her cage she'd poop. It's gross to clean up, but I figured she needed to walking around to stretch her legs and wings. The cage I had her in was small, but large enough for her to stand in, but she spent a lot of time lying down.

You can blame @21hens-incharge , she said I would find the best weirdos here. :p I'm not too chatty unless someone pokes me just right. Than I might mumble a bit. :)
Just jump on in. We're big on oversharing so if something moves you, speak up.

Little chicken is no longer a tush turtle, we now have 8 officially... :jumpy
:weeCongrats!!!!

You know I wonder if when the Squatch call for help goes out and we all go over to give advice....
Does the OP think "Oh good! Help has arrived."
Or is it more like the locusts descended?
They're probably terrified and duck and cover. Incidentally... anyone know what happened to that person who had the chicken w/ the rocks throughout it's digestive system? Just wondering what came of the bird.

I know like 90 percent! Good thing hubs set all those extras in there in case there were alot of duds.:gig
He didn't realize how easy your hens are. I'd set 4 thinking they'd all be fertile and apparently my hens are very prudish b/c only 1 was fertile. I didn't have much space and didn't want to bother w/ rehoming... Guess what I had to do anyway... smh.

Mine lived with my small ducks. I had silver appleyard, cayuga, pekin and black swedish.
They had a pen that was 1/3rd of an acre but when everyone had babies there were 78 in there until I got the babies all sold. In harsh temps they shared a big horse stall in the barn. No one was mean.

My geese were Toulouse.

True story....

They were in their pen when a really bad hailstorm hit very quickly. My gander stood by the corner fence post with his wings out while his mate and every duck that could fit hid under them. He was really beat up by it but he stood his ground. That hail was quarter size and bigger.

I really liked that gander.
Awww what a gentleman. I've seen a goose stare down a car so his wife and babies could cross the road safely. It's so sweet that they're so protective.. and I love watching the videos of them chasing unsuspecting people who get too close to their nest. lolololol

This spring weather must fry chicken brains. Went to lock up Tucks was on the nest, weird but it happens. I'm waiting on them to go roost then I see Ethel squatting and it looks like she's about to die in the yard then POP out comes an egg!
They are so busy eating they didn't go lay then tried to squeeze it in. Ethel and Tucks lay at the same time almost always, such odd birds.:barnie
I had a couple who restarted laying who popped them out in the run. The run I cannot get into. THEN someone decided to start laying in the outside addition that I'd built off the side of the coop so Odin had more space. Now every day I have to crawl through the pop door and collect eggs. I swear they do it on purpose to watch me crawl in their poop. Monday I collected eggs.. I thought I got them all. Tuesday I went out and I have 5 egger eggs. I only have 4 eggers so someone had hidden and egg the day before then uncovered it and put it w/ the rest. :he Sometimes they lay in the nest...

That's totally normal. I like the wing sticking out all casual like.

Anyone ever hear from @TexasSam or did he ghost, like me?
He's probably one of those people who has a life outside of BYC.

A bra brooder!
The technical term is a boober.

Morning everyone!

I'm putting in a little bit of computer time and work time before the scheduled power outage. I intend to spend a good bit of the scheduled outage outside. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day.
Nice that they let you know about it. Hope you have a nice day! How are your surprise chicks doing?

Good morning! Sunny and gorgeous outside, looks like spring finally! Still have eight babies and they're all looking perfect.:)
