We imported Ayam Ketawa in 2019 from two different bloodlines. This was one of our more difficult imports because direct importation from Indonesia is banned by the USDA because of avian influenza in that region. But, by patiently working with Ayam Ketawa breeders, we were able to engineer a legal workaround that eventually allowed us to import this rare breed. Greenfire Farms is the only source of legally imported Ayam Ketawa in the United States.
This whole paragraph makes me a bit suspicious, like 99 dollars suspicious.

I'm thinking they did a double import. They imported them to a country that is allowed to export to us, kept them there for a couple generations and then imported from there.

Very possible, i'm just not a fan of their explanation if I was buying a 100 dollar bird i'd want details lots of details.
