Tested hubs at 8:00. That is 2 hours post dinner.
The reading was 446. I had him retest. That read 422.


This is all new to me so trying to wrap my head around a ton of info on a short time.
He has an appointment in the morning with his doctor.

I have him do a urine ketone test too. That came out negative.

Definitely get him looked at. That's really high. When it gets over 500 there's a risk of him slipping into a diabetic coma. I have had juvenile diabetes since age 10. It's nothing to mess around with.

Check it in the morning after a fast.

He should not be feeling well and will feel better when glucose is lower.

That's the weird part. He says he feels fine.

I will have him test at 5 am when we get up, before coffee. That should be fun.

My hubby’s fasting bs is always the highest.

Maybe it has been high for a while and he feels used to it?

He may feel "normal" but he isn't fine. He probably doesn't know what fine feels like at this point.

I will try to answer any questions you have. I have become a diabetic expert having it for 42 years now. More than likely he has type 2 which can often be reversed by diet and exercise.

Hubs morning reading was 310 before food or coffee this morning.
Better but not good.
