More sad news on my end. I’ve lost 3 of the Death Layer chicks. They seem ok then I find them near death or gone. I cleaned a whole new brooder and moved them into the basement. Moved the growth challenged frizzle to the coop. Going to place a call to Greenfire on Monday. It’s not the money. It sucks I’m out it but...the loss of life is worse.

Girl, that canopy should at least make a dent in your sog problems.

She had Tilly's collar and was destroying it. Yeah the collar is a goner. Luckily the tags are ok and my son had Delilah's baby collar (same size) so all is well enough.

Now to figure out how the tater she got that collar in the first place. :hmm

Silly goobers keep me very busy THAT is certain. :rolleyes:

One of these days I will be smarter than them. :p
Then I will wonder what is wrong with my babies!

The flagstone around the tree worked...digging stopped. :cool:
It actually looks nice too.

The littlest was the first to go. I thought must have been the stress. But losing 1 a day is ridiculous.

Added corid to the water... supposed to change that every day right? Also added a heat lamp at the ceiling. Currently 68* from my reading just outside the brooder.

They are acting normal. Food thrown all over the place. Running around. Not fluffed up or anything.



The mention of Tod cheating reminded me of a story...
These people had a dog show up in their yard and take a nap under a tree repeatedly. One day they opened the door to the house and the dog came in and again took a nap.
It started showing up every day at the same time. Would come in, take a nap, get up about the same time and go to the door to leave.

It was wearing a collar and knowing it had a family that might be worried the people who became the favorite nap spot put a note on the collar one day. Something like, so you know your dog comes to our house and naps every day. He is safe. We don’t mind. Thought you should know.
The dog came back with a note...”Can we come too? We have 4 kids.”
