Glad mostly everything survived R.I.P sunflower. :(
How in the heck do you make a chicken hush Henny? :p
Morning everyone.

Well my garden seems to have survived. There are holes in leaves but not to severe. The only true casualty was a volunteer sunflower.

I give Rudy exactly 12 more seconds before hubs tells me to go shut that bird up. :hmm
She gets rather loud in the morning....every morning.

Actually she is pretty good at listening. :p
I go out and tell her to hush.

Carrying out the feed bucket of wet mash has NOTHING to do with her hushing I am sure.

They do know how to train us!:D Glad you garden survived. That is the downside of living in the cooler mountains here, too. Lots of hoop gardens in Prescott.

She actually stopped on her own. :celebrate
I figure she went on to lay her egg.
She is a 4(?) Year old BSL. Might be only 3 but I am leaning toward her being 4. :hmm Bitty raised her a few batches ago.

I may see if I have random shade cloth to secure over my big leaved items. We have more storms in the forecast.
I was pretty worried about the cabbage, broccoli, squash and Brussels sprouts.

We had a hail storm in May, big enough ice balls to break car windshields and the local car dealer had a Hail Dent Sale. No garden would have survived, but fortunately it just came down in little localized patches.

One would think all that rain would have made weeds easier to pull.
Not in my yard apparently. :barnie

Well a short break for my back then back at it.

The weeds have grown quite large behind the chicken run. A few to many hiding places for pests and preds for my liking. :hmm

The greenhouse is 100% intact. :wee

Didn't Cesar get bit....several times?
Thinking I shouldn't turn my back on certain hens.......
:gig

Henny do you shred all that unwanted stuff that shows up in the mail??? Mine is now garden mulch. I can't think of a better place for all those loan offers.:lau

Sadly most of our junk mail has shiny crap. I do put old grocery ads and the random Wednesday newspaper out there.
I don't have much grass but am putting that out there too when I mow.

Now you know chicken poop makes weeds happy even the wind off it does!
There is a poke salad plant behind the coop here that is pretty much a poke salad tree.
Yeah Cesar has caught a nibble or six, but he wasn't being the alpha....be the alpha Henny! :D
Oh and :woot for greenhouse fortitude!

@FlyingNunFarm
Nunny I was thinking and if you can't find a window to fit that hole you cut if you go to lowes or home depot with your measurements they'll cut a piece of plexiglass to fit perfectly.:)
