I have been holding off posting in the hopes of better news, but I am losing hope by the day.

My flock is gone. Something (I can only assume dogs) tore open the run and damaged one of the coops on Saturday. 1 hen was dead when I found her, 1 hen was injured but alive. The other 7 (my rooster, the last hen, and all 5 pullets) are still missing. No other bodies have been found, but there are feathers from everyone strewn throughout the run. I am absolutely shattered.
Oh no, did you have chicken wire? So sorry for the losses!

It somehow ripped a cattle panel off the run frame. Also destroyed a compost bin and took some chunks out of the smaller coop.

Good God!! :th

You know RJ and I are both fond of fish for protein. ;)

How bad is she injured? Where are her injuries?
I know you got her treated by a vet. Just thinking the location of the injuries may be preventing her from feeling like eating.
That and the shock/trauma of the whole ordeal.

She has about a dozen puncture wounds of varying size. There are multiple ones under each wing, and more on her belly below the keel. No broken bones or organ damage but that much tissue damage must be very painful. :(

I have offered salmon but haven’t had much luck. I will keep offering though. She likes egg best, followed by wet mash. She ate a little bit better this evening so I am certainly not giving up on her. I just wish she weren’t so miserable.

It takes a while for shock to wear off. It sounds like she got pretty torn up too. :(
Will she eat the fish if it is mixed with the egg or mash?
