Chooky, I'm glad Blossom is where she can get good care, and that your parents are able to spend the time with her that she needs to recover. I know she'll be happy to have a flock when she's better, and she'll be happy to see you when you come to visit.

Have you thought about superworms for her to eat? PetSmart usually has them and I've not had any if our chickens turn them down. Even Gurtrude ate them when she didn't want to eat anything else I offered.
 
@Rubysword It's good to hear from you, I'm sorry about your flock. We lost Gurtrude to complications from getting spayed (she was internally laying) this past July. She was doing really well, but then had a ruptured air sac that caused a pneumothorax. I didn't have a large enough guage needle to reduce it and she wouldn't have made it to the vet in time.

We are forecast to be in the mid 40's tonight. I think it is time to close most of the coop windows for the season.

Well after hours and hours and hours a little break then a couple more hours of everybody doing the goooo butt!! cheer.
It is my bleeding ears pleasure to announce Kiwi is a woman.
Also Kiwi is not an olive egger.
Kiwi pretty much lays gumballs.

Oh and as to Rudy and my butt chewing. :rolleyes:

It is a daily adventure with her. E V E R Y morning without fail for 5 years she has told me exactly how she feels.....apparently not much like a morning bird.
I usually respond with.... "Well I am truly sorry. They said you would love this for breakfast." or more often "Slept on the wrong side of the roost again? Have some breakfast it will cheer you up." :: pat, pat, pat :: "run along now before they eat all the good stuff."

She is a trip.
