I'm so sorry. It really is heartbreaking when you do everything you can and it still isn't enough. I honestly think that this isn't the best year for hatches. Compared to what I remember from that last several years of reading about everyone's flocks, this has been a year with less than normal successful hatching and first 10 days. A couple years ago it seemed like roosters were the only thing that existed. Last year everyone was overrun with chicks, and this year seems like the eggs and chicks are not faring well at all.
Is it possible that the not so normal weather is part of it? It's not just the temp and humidity in the bators that effect the development, it's the temp and humidity prior to then being collected, and the stress that the hens feel during the fertilization and egg development.
I know that not having a reliable bator is part of the issue for a few batches, but it's been a couple people with hatching/chick issues, so I thought I'd throw out a possible explanation. It won't fix the issues, but maybe help with some of the heartbreak a little.
