Good morning everyone. :caf
Another beautiful day so far. The quackers will be awake very soon. It is warm but not hot.....yet.
Today is......start running my screened top soil though my 1/2" compost screener to remove anything that shouldn't end up in the dog kennel......no rocks allowed. When it gets to hot to continue (forecast is for 100°) I will hit the shower then do the costco trip and stop to look for feed scoops.
After that it is clean the quack house and set up a nest box in case they want to use one. No eggs yet but maybe within the next month or so.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Daniel, I am not familiar with the breed your chicks are so cannot help other than to say they sure are cute.

Morning. It’s too early! M-F I have to drag myself out of bed, but for some reason, on the weekend I can’t seem to sleep in 😢
:frow Good morning Fishy, have a great day

Bob, I want to come and sit on your deck for a day or 10 just watching those tiny beautues! 💕
I promise to pet Todd and not try to run off with his gorgeous mug.

We get mostly house finch, a few black cap chickadee, blue jays, stellar jays and doves here. One year (in winter cause there was snow) we woke to a small flock of true blue birds taking shelter in the yard.

Yesterday at 8pm we had someone actually brave enough to ring the bell and not run away when the dogs hit the window. He was selling the services of a bug control company. :hmm I have a no soliciting sign.
On and on he went about how he could get rid of the bugs/wasps/spiders in my yard. Um....I am chemical free here. My porch light is left on at night, which draws tiny flying things, which draws small spiders, which make webs near the light. There is a big barn spider (Fred) tucked in by the garage door. Yup no poison since he has a name. It took a good 30 minutes to get him to go away. I told Fred good night before I went inside.

Maybe I need a light up no soliciting sign.....

Thankfully we don't encounter that here... We do get the occasional church crowd, but not often. When we lived in the city, it was an all the time thing. I used to point to the sign and have them read it to me, then I'd holster my dirty harry revolver and open the door. That generally caused them to lose interest and leave, but there were a few that were not going anywhere until they finished their speech. I'd sit in my chair, smoke my cigarette, sip my crown and just generally be uninterested. When they finally finished, I'd just get up walk into the house and close the door.

You’re too nice. I say No Thank You and close the door. I’m okay if they think I’m rude, hopefully word gets around and they stop coming by 😆
What I would like is a sign saying “No Solicitors, except school, church, shelter, scout, and other stuff I’m actually interested in.” :gig
