Official Squatch Watchers

Yup. Not even giant cookies either. It happens if I get my timing off. Early morning ok, late evening ok, mid day NONONONO.
Doc said if I go up like that I can add 1/2 an additional pill. We will see how things are at 6:15 (about 45 minutes more).
Huh. I never knew that the time of day could cause an issue. Especially midday.

Mid day my med is wearing off. Early morning and evening is meds going in and forcing the system to function 2 hours later. The doc won't give permission for a mid day dose.

Oh, okay. I guess I didnt think f the timing of the meds.

I’m really hoping my brain resets itself over break. I’m having some really weird brain farts for a while now. I have talked to my doctor but he says I should just slow down a bit 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m worse when I am slower vs going 100 mph. Thats when I make most of my mistakes.

It's ok. I don't think you saw my meltdown a year and a half ago. (Good gawd it seems like yesterday)
Type 2 diabetes messed my world up. I am coping better now so it's ok.

There's a long story about HOW we found mine. I will spare you that.
Basically I quit my job because I was so sick all the time with weird stuff. Extreme migraines, sudden extreme weight loss, fatigue, muscle aches, kidney troubles and more.
The big D.....yeah I was not a candy eater. I was a carb eater. Taters was my HUGE one. I never liked pasta or ice cream etc. Carbs are in just about everything.
So go Keto? No. The body takes those proteins and converts them to sugars.
It is a balancing act. Exercise is very important, diet is very important and knowing how your body reacts to different foods is important.
Cereal is super high carb, rice, beans, pasta all high carb. For normal people no big deal the body handles it.
The bottom line is to eat a balanced diet, exercise, limit those super high carb items and eat your veggies.....not all veggies are created equal...corn, peas, potatoes and more are actually a starch not a veggie.

Oh and portion control.

I still want to know WHY they pour a full glass of milk when a "serving size" on Oreos is 3.

Yikes! Yeah, that’s a terrible way to find out!

I used to be so good with my diet, I think  But the last several years I have been stress eating, which I swear I didnt even believe was a real thing. I would rather have a salad than junk, but junk lasts longer in the pantry 🤣 😭
I have done some research and was shocked to find that out about fruits and vegetables! It’s like my entire diet, that I thought was pretty good, is just one giant carbohydrate :th
I have been working on upping my protein intake as well as fiber.
Moving is my biggest challenge. I’m in pain almost constantly. If it isnt my knee, its my elbows, my hip, or my back. Oof my back 😵😵
It was so bad one time, I literally could not move. I actually called my doctor, they couldnt get me in right away so I called my chiropractor, from bed.
How does one get out if bed to go to the bathroom when they cant move? Well, lots of scooching and cringing. Finally yelling for hubs who, for some reason, got on all fours to support me 🤷🏻‍♀️, didnt work. The absolute worst part was when I started laughing and couldnt stop. I was so afraid I would make a mess! I did finally make it to the bathroom, but wow! LOL! Yes, I def called off work for the next couple of days.
I cant swear this is what fixed it, but sure as heck helped me - yoga ball chairs 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I havent been back to the chiropractor since. And nobody believes me when I say it was because I was sitting on the side if the tub scrubbing the litter box. They said that I must have done something else 🤷🏻‍♀️ Nope, I swear.

So at one frustrated visit with my endocrinologist I kept pushing for some kind of diet plan for me to use.
Her answer was "Nothing is off limits. It is about balance and finding what works for YOU. Each person is unique. What works for one may be very bad for another."
Yeah fat lotta help that was! I left even more frustrated. Then I got to reading more and more about how many carbs are in this and that. Tried this and that and recorded the results. Yup measured EVERYTHING I ate. I found what generally works but not only is each person unique but each day can vary greatly. Yesterday cookies were ok. Today....not so much.
Dinner tonight for me was pan seared hot smoked sausage and bell peppers. Low carb but not zero carb. I will test again at 9 and hopefully am within my prescribed range.

I hate that you pay them for nothing sometimes. she could've given you some direction, at least a referral to a nutritionist. I’m glad you figured it out, but sorry you were left to your own devices :hugs

Actually she is really good. I trust her and the nutritionist.... I chose not to spend a ton on one. The doc did tell me there are things that generally don't work for ANY diabetic and what those are.
Like the doc said what works for one person isn't necessarily going to work for the next. That makes sense.
