Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning folks :frow

Dd #1 just got notified that she got the job at the clinic she was wanting to work at. She's so happy.
Congratulations, that's wonderful news
Good morning all
Humidity returns
:frow Good morning Mo, have a great day
Good morning!
I'm finally starting to get that rain that was supposed to be coming.
The clouds have everything still sort of dark so a bunch of the chickens are still snoozing, didn't even budge when I opened the door.
I can't blame them it is a nice temperature and a good morning for sleeping in.:)
:frow Good morning Chicky, have a great day
Good morning everyone.

Sitting at 70° right now and expected to be 95 today.

At least our humidity shouldn't be high.
Lots to do of course. If all goes well I will make that strawberry jam. One batch of plum jam didn't set as well as I hoped. I may cook it down more. The nice thing with plum jam is no added pectin is involved so a recook won't mess that up.
:frow Good morning Henny, have a great day

Mine never thicken so I rebrand it as preserves so it seems intentional. :D

I thought about doing that. It's a lovely color and has great flavor. Maybe a good pancake syrup..... Oh good heavens the carb load of doing that! 😳

The first batch thickened nicely. I think this just needed heated longer. One solid sugary pop to the glasses and I was SOOOOO over standing there stirring it.

I use it as cake topping and muffin filler, it turns muffins pinkish but they're delicious 😋
Lol the thought of stirring makes my arm twitch, must be that muscle memory kicking in.

Reassessment of the jam at breakfast the second batch is ok. That first batch is actually a bit to stiff and the second is nice and spreadable.

It's still weird that neither batch yielded the amount the recipe says it will and neither batch would pass 200° when the recipe says it must hit 220° to set up. Batch 1 was actually setting up IN THE PAN while never cresting 200°.

Aren't you considered high altitude where you are?

Good morning!
I finally got another charge cable for that tablet last night.
The bad thing is I'm scared to use it lol!
I think when is comes to those cables I'm cursed, the one I told y'all about was the second one I'd killed in a week.
The first one I didn't really count since it came with the tablet and I just wrote it's death off as cheap OEM junk.
Second one could be that too since I stole hubs identical cord.
Third one is after market so if it croaks I'm just a stone cold cord murderer.. :caf
It is not murder, just planned obsolescence. It is horrible what those things cost to replace.
