Ours has been running all day, and all night! Hubby does a great job with it! I supply the kindling.

Well, our thinking was "it's going to be a cold morning, but not too cold tonight." Temps were in the 30s when everyone went to bed. It's 11* and falling right now. Heat pump does ok in 20's but not in teens. So I'll be up for a bit until the stove is doing its job. BTW, I hate weather forecasters. Low tonight was supposed to be 25*Ours has been running all day, and all night! Hubby does a great job with it! I supply the kindling.
I don't know anyone else who gets it wrong that much that still has a job!Well, our thinking was "it's going to be a cold morning, but not too cold tonight." Have him teach you how to start a fire in case you need to. Good skill to have.We use a woodstove too! My dad is amazing at keeping it going.
I can see what happened... They were forecasting cloudy skies tonight which would insulate our temps but the clouds left about an hour ago and the temps fell like a rock. Beautiful clear sky.I don't know anyone else who gets it wrong that much that still has a job!
I can tell you we sure check the weather here a lot more than we did in FL! But we also spend a lot more time outside. We normally start the wood stove when it hits 22* outside. I was plunking away out here and not paying attention and then felt cold. went and looked and house temp was passing through 60* and it was 12* outside. I should have know it was going to happen as I noted the clear skies an hour or two ago, but just didn't connect the dots.
