For all of us Squatchers:

WHEN YOU ARE DEHYDRATED.... do NOT slam drink a whole bunch of water.. this doesn't help. You will stay dehydrated and most likely will just pee out the water. You need to drink 8 ounces of liquid, every 45-60 minutes. Liquids recommended are:

Clear broth
Water with an added pinch of salt and 1/2tsp honey or molasses
Any electrolyte drink, but drink it at room temperature
Juice mixed half and half with water

Dehydration during the winter is just as easy to happen as during the summer. The cold, dry air sucks moisture out of you, so it's just as important to keep hydrated during the winter as the summer.

No... cause then I"d be dead, like, 32,896,832 times over. :tongue

We could play cards (after dead of course)
I have a deck saved! Saved it special!
Just for while in the very toasty after this life.
It is made up of all 2's of clubs!!!
Course go fish, poker, and any other card game will be rather boring. :gig

Vet thinks Marek’s. White patches throughout liver and other areas. She was extremely emaciated, which I could tell.
Second Silkie from this flock I got.
Do I go ahead and euthanize the other 3 Silkies I got from her???

Still catching up!
@pitbullmomma thinking about you today!!!!
Have you read the great big book about mereks here?
How many other chickens do you have?

Oh no! Have they been isolated far away from the others? It spreads so easily, it may be too late. Up to you if you want to cull.
I am going to breed mine to try and develop a resistant strain.

Good morning everyone.

We started off the morning 45 min later than we intended. I set the alarm time to 6am and then forgot to turn it on...
:he:he:he:barnie:barnie:barnie

Fortunately, I woke up 30 min before we were supposed to leave for the chiropractor, woke DH and the Milk Drinker stayed asleep until I woke him after I finished my breakfast. I got him dressed, let him get a drink of milk, and off we went. He was a crazy kid, running all over the doctor's office. Fortunately, DH and I were able to corral him and keep him from breaking anything. The doc and the nurses were very nice and helped us with keeping him busy. Apparently, I have an extra lumbar (lower spine) vertebra. Normal people have 5. I have 6. The 6th one is usually fused to the top of the sacrum, but mine isn't. It is a congenital abnormality that can cause some spinal instability, but shouldn't be debilitating or damaging if maintained. Oddly enough, none of my other chiropractors told me about this malformation, even the ones that took x-rays.

MD had some issues with his neck, but was a pickle about being adjusted. Hopefully he'll get used to it.

Both MD and I are much better today. He only has a lingering cough (which is getting better over time), no chest congestion. My dehydration seems to have resolved and my bladder thanks me.

It is supposed to get in the mid-30s here and it is already raining. Starting today, it is supposed to stay above freezing during the day. Starting on Wednesday it should stay above freezing even at night until Saturday night!!! :woot Hopefully, our chickens will start giving us more eggs soon.:fl
