Interesting, my grandma was full Italian and I've never heard anything about botulism. I will say that we definitely do talk with our hands so that's one stereotype I can confirm.

Rain is always good in Southern California. Luckily I already prepped the coop for inclimate weather and I don't live in an area where there is wildfire damage.

How far 'southern' are you? My SIL lives near San Diego and my brother lives in San Gabriel. Thankfully both not near the fires, but I'm always worried.
