It is amazing what good food and a dust bath will do for a chicken... PLUS enough room to move around! Lucy's tail feathers are definitely growing back in... and she makes sure, every day, that I know she wants back with her sisters. Not yet though... not when she's just getting really filled back in.

Rae wins!

1) I took four years of Japanese as an undergraduate student (it was my degree minor). I used to be pretty good but I don't use it much anymore (surprise!) so I'm pretty rusty.

2) I have been to 4 continents: North America (obviously), Europe, Asia, and Australia. Still dreaming of making it to the others some day.

3) My secret is out! There are at least a dozen feral chickens living on my property. They are a breeding population that have been out there for years. There are too many for me to adopt (for now....) and they have been out there for multiple generations; not sure how they would feel about confinement. BUT as Smuvers guessed. I do feed them once a day, and I have extra waterers in the yard for them. I also keep my dog from bothering them. Which is probably why they started sleeping in my yard in the first place (they kinda roam the neighborhood during the day but always come back to my place by late afternoon). I will try to get a picture of them during feeding time so you can see MY squatch chickens.

Not with 100% accuracy. But we might be able to give you an idea in about 2 weeks of you take close up pictures of each chick standing and pictures of comb and wattles.
