The first is part of the giant granny square afgan I made for hubby. The other 3 are the fabrics I have available for the drapes. The color doesn't show up well on my kindle.

Brb with pics of the 2 cross stitch that I still have.

You folks and all that fancy needle work... Not with these old eyes. First I was an odd ball, when I joined the military I could sew, knit etc. Made me very popular when things had to be sewn onto uniforms. Second, I was a graduate of NASA's high reliability solder course. Which means I could successfully solder a 64 pin CPU onto a multi layered circuit board without damaging either. 15-20 years ago, I went to help one of the kids with a soldering project and just couldn't focus on the points. I was already having trouble in the wood shop with some of my measuring tools, so I bagged up the project, made an appointment with the eye doctor. I took the project with me when I went. His first comment was there was nothing wrong with my close vision. I handed him the project and explained what I couldn't see and his immediate response was those things weren't there. After a little debate he pulled out a high powered magnifying glass with light, put on his reading glasses and saw what I was looking for. Then he sat down and did some math. His final conclusion was: "I only correct to 20/20 and your close vision was apparently 20/05." :barnieSo I bought a mag light.

Latest sign, needs trimming and attaching the pieces.View attachment 1198058

I am going to put 2 parallel pieces of wood on the back. And screw them on.

Tell Santa that you need a K5 system and some glue and while you're at it a dewalt planer and some pallets. Pallets are made with whatever hardwood is cheap where they're made. They normally cost between $7-$12 recycled... So they're made with cheap hardwood. I've found pallet wood with curly maple, hard maple, white oak, red oak, cypress and many others. Often you don't know what it is until you run it through the planer. Yes I know, here I go again being an enabler.

ETA: Of course some glue up clamps would be cool too.
