Official Squatch Watchers

Some cats are nice! Kiss is a wonderful little guy. Every pet has poop to deal with at some point if indoors. Plus they have self cleaning litter boxes now. Cats are more loyal than dogs, dogs will love on anyone if they are that type. Cats just like their special people mostly.
Dogs will let others pet or play with them but when you call them they stop everything and come running. When you get home from work they are the first one to say hello and get all excited you are there. If something is wrong dogs will let you know. Even self cleaning litter boxes have to be cleaned yuk. I'm mostly just kicking your shins though

Hahahaha! My husband hates cats too!! And he is allergic to them. I grew with cats, I miss them in a way.
Men don't like cats because they are not easily controlled. Plus i suspect they are jealous of Tom cats getting so much...

Growing up, the dog was always outside, we never had s cat and if we did, it would have been outside. The only indoor pet was a hamster. Now all our pets live inside with us.

Lizbeth, the banty, is a direct result of a mirror. The kids had het out, and put a mirror where she could see it. She started making lonely chicken noises, then would fall asleep, only to wake up and make sue the other chicken was still there. :idunno And that's how the chicken in the mirror became s real, live bird, even though the two look totally different. :love I'd grump, but I love Lizbeth too much, and I'm glad we have her.

Goodnight to those still up, and good morning to those getting up soon - ish. Take care. :hugs

I think what happened was they asked her just not to do it again.
Our beloved smuvs is a sensitive, caring, and deeply passionate friend to all of us and I think the tumult of that day was exhausting for her.
Her profile is still up so she as not evicted or ejected or whatever it would be called, so I'm assuming her status is good and she is just giving herself some time off, maybe to do fun things with her PIC.
-feel free anyone to jump in and correct me-
I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle :flthat she comes back to this crazy group she started, after she's calmed down and rested up!
If @Smuvers Farm is lurking and reading, please D.
Come back. It's okay.
Hugs from Stacey and the rest of the crew :love
I totally get that. A while back somebody on here give me some major attitude and I logged off and didn't log in for about a week. Sometimes you just need a break. She's probably getting so much done though! I took a break for a month from social media a couple years ago and it was amazing how much I was able to get done each day without it.

So, topic....

What are you all most looking forward to eating over Christmas/New Year/the Holidays?

I'm looking forward to apple crisp. If my mom doesn't make it, I will be.
We always make the same stuff but my mom makes some really great baked beans. And I always make the pumpkin pie.. No cloves which makes it taste so much better.

Crickets in the coop would be interesting for them, but the problem is they will hide, and the chickens will tear everything up trying to get them. Then you have the ones that die and go bad before they're eaten, and they tend to be the smelly ones. Small amounts would be fine, but any more than 7 or 8 crickets per chicken at one time and you have the hiding issue. Chickens can only keep track of a certain number of insects at a time, and can only catch a certain number before they disappear into all of the spaces that cannot be reached.
Thanks for the warning! The coop is pretty small & I don't want anyone to get hurt hunting.

In other news, I probably just put myself on some watch list of some kind. I am listening to A. American's "home" series on my phone and I just researched nicotine poisoning. This isn't the first time a "prepper/survivalist book" had me researching odd things either.
I search questionable things all the time.. I always ask the nsa ppl for pizza. Haven't gotten one yet.

That is the cutest story!

We have a snow day today. While I appreciate an early notice I can't go back to sleep. Pretty much the whole county is closed. My coop seems to be staying 5 degrees above the outside temp. Shoring up those drafty spots by the door seems to have helped. No condensation on Windows & odin's waddles & comb are looking ok. I won't be letting them free today either. Overnight is supposed to be single digits.
