Did i tell you her Momma's side of the family is search and rescue and Daddy's side are show dogs? He won best of opposite sex to the female that won the show at Madison Square garden!
 
Merry Christmas everyone!
We had a lovely wake up at 3:45 this morning because the power went out. I got up, called the power company, cranked the gas heat up in the room where the chicks are living and went to back to bed. This morning, I made the chicks a huddle box with a hole in it so they could keep warm but they didn’t seem to need it. We went up to my parents (next door to our place) to open presents, not worrying too much since the chicks didn’t seem to be too bothered. I went back to the house to pick up the apple sauce and all our gas furnaces were out and the chicks were all huddled together and peeping in a distressed manner. I put them in the huddle box and alerted DH and my dad so they could look into the problem before the chicks died of cold.

Fortunately the electricity cane back about 30 min ago and the chicks heater plate worked again before they died of cold. Our gas is still out, but we have electric oil heaters in our bedrooms to make sleeping there tonight bareable and the chicks can get warm with their heater plate and we can start acclimating them to cooler temps.

My family has also embraced the fact that I’m a CCL, and proud of it.
