Good Monday Morning Squatchers! Good to see everyone out in force to welcome in the newest Squatcher, Misty. Also, although I am OP, the Squatchers are all equal in my eyes... some being more equal-er than others! :lau

Misty, do not fear asking questions. We have a TON of *inside jokes* that someone will happily explain. I see taters has been explained. I use the abbreviation PIC to describe my kiddo (he is my Partner In Chickens, PIC). Rae has an MD (Milk Drinker, her kiddo she breast feeds), and our 2 gentlemen (Sam and RJ), will even discuss feminine issues. They're comfortable like that...

Today is waaay past MOIST here.... been rainy since last night, so we are SUPER happy we put more hay and shavings in the runs and coops. I'd hate my little feather butts to get all muddy.

Thirteen didn't survive the night. We figured it was coming. Tiny was the one who had the big, unabsorbed yolk that was probably infected (as seen by Lazy Gardener), and Thirteen was the other egg the taterholes *helped* to hatch, so probably wasn't ready to hatch and came too early. We're OK... fact of life. PIC is totally OK. I find that a good sign. He is learning how the circle of life works, and will soon assist in culling one of the chickens so we can make some soup and bone broth.

So, this flock, the Taterholes, consists of 9 chickies. 7 yellow, 1 a dark grey and 1 a greyish black. They are doing super good in their brooder.... no more chickies until we get our buckeye eggs!

Not really sure what's gonna be on todays agenda. Right now, just a cuppa joe to take the chill outta my old bones.

@MrsMistyReal :hugs and welcome again. Good luck with your appointments, and always ALWAYS feel free to post here. It can be happy, sad, frustrated, yucky, tater filled, or whatever. We don't judge... it's not our job to judge you... it's our job to embrace and supprt each other, so that's what we do. Take it from the person who went bat crap crazy just a short while ago! :D

Today is the day I hand in my resignation! I'm nervous, but absolutely sure it is the right thing to do.

I hope I can sleep better after today. Just want to get this over with, so I can move on. Never quit a job before without having a backup, but I have to do this. Wish me strength!

Early morning nap now but she should be up in about an hour.

Then she tends to stay up til noon, down til 1 or 1:30 then up til 7. Yes the afternoons are SUPER crazy!

She has been making it through the night very well. During the days she gets amped up playing and does not always give me much time to get her outside.
