What do you think about my Silkie

I have no idea!
Last weekend I ran outside because of a chicken ruckus and they were all back in their favorite dustbathing area which used to be a failed compost pile of lawn and garden waste that have gotten about six feet tall -which by the way they have worked to six inches deep and 15 feet square-
Back on track : so I thought dolly was "barking" at Corrine to get out of her spot but then I realized she was cough/sneezing and I freaked out!
Scooped her up
Started crying
Ran in the house with DH on my heels
Yelled at him that she was probably coming down with a respiratory illness.
She was going to die!
The FLOCK was going to die!
Grabbed the nutridrench out of the cupboard
And a syringe
Forced a whole cc down her throat
She was coughing and sputtering
And he was HOVERING
and then I SCREAMED at him
NOW LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!
She clucking ASPIRATED!


Then I noticed her nostrils were completely clogged with dirt from the compost pile.
So I ran and got a handful of wet qtips and cleaned them out

And she was fine.
Totally fine and hasn't done it again.

She was probably lying there asleep and somebody kicked a shovelful of dirt in her face and she inhaled it.

So check your silkies nostrils and maybe put a little oil or liquid vitamins down her and see if it stops.
