I shelled out $50 on chook books recently so I guess I can't talk either.

Giirl, you and that million dollar ham don't have a single leg (or ham swing) to stand on here!

I KNEW this was coming from someone.......

But, I also don't ask for rocks on a metal band. We replace them too often. I most of the time can't even wear my (3rd or 4th) engagement/wedding set cause my hands swell all the time. DH just misplaces his.... so he's on ring 7 or 8 by now.

Why not try this: Hey honey.... guess what I got you for VDay?!? Have her give you 2-4 answers, say NO each time, say it's a surprise, and then get her one of the things she listed???

I love it!

I would die before I spent that much on a JAMON.
I would not wear 70 dollar pjs even if they were a gift...I'd return them in a heartbeat and buy 10 pairs of something else.
I would probably spend that much on crocheting stuff if I knew how to crochet. (I do have knitting needles and a few hook things that I don't know how to use.)
I have no interest in showing birds right now so the 50 bucks on a bird is nuts for me too.
