Official Squatch Watchers

We all got home safe and sound! We made the trip from the DC Metro area in under 5 hours, only stopping twice. Once for lunch and once for gas. We made it home before dark. I got to take some pictures of the BSL chicks and Chicken Surprise are 10 weeks old. I'll post the pics tomorrow. My internet is slow after 6pm.

Tomorrow, I'm working and watching the incubator. I have 6 eggs from my mixed flock that should be hatching this week. However, I think only 2 will hatch. The other 4 aren't quite as developed.

I'm about to log off here. Gonna cross my fingers and hope I pass out soon. Really overcast and MOIST today. Gonna be another craptastic day tomorrow. Looking at SUNNY and 50s/60s Friday through Sunday, so gonna treat DH like a rented red headed step mule! :lau

I'll see y'all tomorrow. :hugs
Good night Smuv! Did everybody vote for peeps to get badges this month?

I think Chicken Surprise is a Buff Orp/New Hampshire and a pullet. :yesss:

I let the chicks out to range with the rest of the main flock. One Delaware was giving them trouble but she left them alone when we chased her off. The 5 BSL chicks really hung together and CS really just did her own thing.

Their older half sister (black Cochin/ Dom cross) was really interested in them. The chicks were wary though

Another night, more playing keep Lizbeth from nesting on anything and everything soft. If she can't get what she wants, she has a little temper tantrum, which is equal parts cute and frustrating. Even Gurtrude gets fed up with her broodiness. At least for now she's settled in on my shoulder.

Btw, happy March, hopefully it is nicer to y'all than Jan and Feb have been.

I'd love to give lots of chicken baths, but I don't do house calls, and shipping them would be detrimental. Warm water and the original Dawn dish detergent gets the job done, however.

Okie, coffee's on, cinnamon spice oatmeal and applesauce in slow cookers, hot water going for tea, zucchini bread, bagels and English muffins on counter with butter. Cream cheese, jam and preserves are in fridge, along with almond milk for the non dairy drinkers.

Have a great morning, see y'all later.
