I wonder if it might be something where the chickens were born w/ some kind of defect and it's just taking time for it to surface.

Yes but there is only one place in the state that does it. The chickens tend to die on the weekend too for some strange reason. Any way i have treated for everything i can think of and they still get lame and die. What else could it b?

Contact the lab and see what they recommend doing if the bird passes on the weekend.
