I went out to check on my broody Molly because tomorrow is supposed to be hatch day. I lift Molly off the eggs and I smell something HORRIBLE. I look and I see 8 eggs and one dead chick. One of her eggs exploded. The dead hatched chick that was covered in nasty egg goop. I moved Molly into another box with fresh hay and I start moving her eggs over. Besides the dead chick, two more eggs were dead in shell. They were next to the nasty egg and were covered in goop.

There are still 6 in tact eggs and one of them is pipped with a baby that is very much alive. Molly got her nasty belly feathers clipped. hopefully the rest hatch fine.

I wish I had candled a few days ago like I wanted.

I got him to sleep 20 minutes ago. I’ve come to the conclusion that he needs a good exercise session (which has been swimming in his kiddie pool for the last week) and a nap that is less than 1.5 hours long. Yesterday, he got a 2hr 20min nap and he was awake until 11:30 even though he started yawning at 9.

I spent 1.5 hrs hoofing it up and down the Aisles at my local Home Depot trying to wear him out! :wee

The kiddie pool is easier on me. I just sit out there and tell him what color ball he is holding.
