Official Squatch Watchers

She sounds like a putz Henny, i'd be vet shopping too.
We should be near 60° today. Yup it's coop cleaning day. I scoop the area under the roosts once a week if we aren't having super cold days. Those super cold times I spot clean every day to keep humidity down.

I took Tilly for her 12 week shots this morning. She is 25.2 pounds. Sure feels heavier.

I don't particularly like the vet she saw today. It was the same one who had me running lots of tests on Sable for "kidney failure".
This little puppy is NOT fully vaccinated yet and she is telling me I need to be taking her to dog parks.
WHAT THE WHAT????
UM NO!

Then she's all over me to spay her......She is BARELY 12 tatering weeks old!!!!!
Then it's how she MUST be on heartgard NOW.

:tongue I am going to explore different vets.

OH AND she puked the bordetella stuff all over the back seat of my car.
:sick
Yup she 100% missed the blanket.:hmm

Actually, The same person can carry weight differently. Before I went gluten free, I was around 235 and looked a LOT heavier.

If only we could direct the extra to specific places. & that doesn't even include bloating and water retention.

@apryl29 .
I got some corrugated plastic at Home Depot and mounted it at an angle inside to stop the snow blowing in but keep the venting.

This is what I used. It was easy to cut with a utility knife. I mounted it using the good ole screws and washers.

It does come in several size sheets.
brilliant! I'll have to pick some up this weekend. It's only really a problem when it's windy and snowing which is pretty much most of winter.

Porridge! You're such a good chicken mom! I'll have to do that in the morning, supposed to be 27 so they'll enjoy it...or be scared taterless, they haven't seen porridge in a while.:gig

@apryl29 Yep, Marlene lays she's my jumbo layer 80g and up.
That may explain her attitude right there, and she's my oldest the only one left of my first four.:)
Pfsht... I'd be extra grumpy to everyone too!

That vet sounds like the people who say you should take your newborn out during flu season and expose them to disease to build up their immunity. No thank you.

Yeah...the doctor that drew us to that clinic is rarely in these days. I think he is fixing to retire.
It stinks cause they are very close to home.

My son takes his dog there too and feels the same way about this particular vet.

When I had my old dog in for a goopy eye she wanted to talk about my Sable more than my Jack. :hmm

I am one of "those dog owners" who kinda know what I want out of my dogs and it's not my first puppy rodeo.

Sound like the lady I took old Puss to for her pinkeye.
Kept going on and on about her age and how I should "prepare" for the inevitable....yeah kinda know that says the clueless owner who's been giving insulin injections for four years. Good to know she's old though, needed a second opionion on that.

Same thing happened to us when our vet had a stroke. They kept the place open and have some student vets. I had a cat who got bit by something or whatever and my mom took him in. The lady shaved his leg, then started ripping the scab off his leg and left and hole of exposed muscle, gave her some antibiotic to give him and said it'd heal. Well, he kept licking it. It looked like raw hamburger so my mom had me take him back in. Another $80 visit WHAT?! and the vet said well you gotta keep him from licking it. And I'd had a cat who had a water blister on her back that burst and the previous vet gave me some NDZ puffer to put on it to help it heal and to keep her off it. I didn't know the name, but I asked her about this puffy stuff that came in a little bottle and I just puffed the stuff on it and it healed. She had no idea what I was talking about, but thankfully the receptionist who'd helped the previous vet knew exactly what it was and got it for me. The vet lady said Oh. Yeah. SMH... I get that you learn things by experience, but it doesn't make me feel any better using someone who knows less than I do when they are supposed to be educated.
We started using another vet in the next town over after I took my Jasmine in b/c it looked like she had a dead tooth and was drooling. They looked at her and said the tooth needed removed, but they couldn't do it and charged me an office visit. I took her to the other vet who said there's no reason the other vet couldn't have just taken it out, it was barely in there. The new vet's office is awesome (not the same place as the chicken vet) & they know stuff which is nice.

@apryl29 I used window screen over the WW that was on the old coop. I think it originally was a window but the glass broke out. It was to high up for predators reaching in to be a problem so I used old window screen. Kept the snow out just fine.

There is a pet proof screen. It's not cheap but I tater you not my cat would sharpen his nail on it and it was no worse for ware.

Well I called a vets office that I took an old foster to many years ago on an emergency.

Well checks are almost twice the current vet but if they give a vaccine at that visit the well check fee is removed.
Their spay charges are 100 bucks lower and include the optional blood work.

Definitely going to talk to hubby about that.

Be jealous of my sunshine and happy chickens!

Although the rest of the week doesn't look too promising.

You're kidding me. I know you're tall & we all wear our weight differently, but I wouldn't have never guessed anything close to that. Even in the baby bump post you look so thin w/ this cute little bump. Seriously, you look freakin' amazing. I'm 5'2" & about 185 & I look like a busted can of biscuits. I'm not overweight.. I'm just too short.
You just described me!
I agree I would have never have guessed that number for @Redhead Rae!
