Official Squatch Watchers

Actually, the problem was caused by a pinched nerve in my neck. And it is doing better thanks. :hugs
Now my IBS is torturing me and my stomach has been hurting. Just falling apart.
Going to see the neck dr. Tuesday.
IBS does not sound fun!

I hope it calms down soon

I just bought one from MPC! I wish a local supplier sold them, but they don't. So I will only have to put the littles in the garage this one time.

Do we have the most spoiled chickens in the world, or what?!:lau
Yes we do. I worry more about my animals than anything else.

IBS is so messed up. And, there's so many different kinds; the diarrhea kind, the constipation kind, and the mixed kind.

Then you throw on top of it that it is SO individualized to each person, IRT triggers, treatments, you name it...some people's are affected by stress, others by food, others by both.

In my experience, meds (ie anticholinergics like Levsin, Bentyl, etc.) have never worked well at all. They have come up with new drugs but I haven't tried any of them, because diet modifications have worked really well for me. And oddly, the past few years it spontaneously got better and I didn't have an attack in like three years or so, until I went to the ashram and ate all that super-healthy, super-high-fiber veggie food!

It's so weird. I couldn't eat corn, popcorn, beans for many years. Then, all of a sudden, the last few years, I've been able to. It's such a freaky condition.

I've had it for so long, when I was a little girl they called it "Nervous Stomach." Then the name changed to "Spastic Colon." Then it became IBS. Now it's IBS-C, IBS-D, what have you.

And after all these decades, they still haven't come up with a good med for it!
There was one that was helping me but they quit making it!

So happy for you Suzi. I know how it feels to miss a dog. My last one passed Jan.'89 and I still miss him. Just between my medical bills etc., no extra for a vet and other doggy bills.

Maybe you could "foster" a dog or puppy from a shelter?"

I think Seramas are hardier too!! Mine have done fine with the 20 degree weather and my little Sweeter Heater so far this winter I just worry about the dramatic drop we are supposed to get tomorrow. 51 to 6 is a big difference. Definitely gonna put them in the garage till the tems normalize a bit.

I'm really liking the look of that Cozy Coop heater. They have them on MPC for 39 bucks. That is pretty cheap compared to the SHs!! Too bad TSC doesn't have them, I'd snag one up today...

Are you sure TSC doesn't have them? I bought mine there.

I know myself. Once a dog crosses my doorstep I'm instantly attached. I'd never be able to let it go again.

Good morning, Squatchers! :caf

I have been a little absent, but I'm back. Been working hard at my new job (and loving it! Yay!) and taking a little quiet time...yesterday was the first anniversary of my mom's death, and I've just been mourning her and haven't had a lot to say.

I'm glad that day is over. I cried and lit a bunch of candles, and did a few shots of Fireball in her memory. I think the anticipation of dealing with that day was worse than the actual day. I know it gets easier with time, I've had a lot of deaths, unfortunately.

Anyway, on to happier stuff. Suzi healed up really well with her broken beak and bloodied self. After a few days of ICU and TLC she went back in the coop, and she is fine. Her beak is growing back slowly, and she looks funny but she is eating well and is totally back to her normal self. :D

No more predator attacks. Hubby has been beefing up the security even more ever since, as my coops/runs situation wasn't quite the Fort Knox I thought it was.

I miss my sweet Willow and my big green egg layer Maya. I've been giving the other birds lots of love and extra treats. I think Deila misses her twin sister Willow:hit.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 51, then drop down to 6!!! Is that crazy or what?! I'm thinking I should put my Seramas, Serama mixes, and Flower in the garage. Suzi, what are you doing with your tiny birds? I'm sure your weather has to be freaking cold.

It's good to be back! Love you guys! :love

I’m gonna be tougher this year.

Ok the puppies have done it now!

They knocked my kindle off the end table and shattered the screen.

:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie

My desktop is in a box in a closet!

:barnie:barnie:barnie

Looking into kindle repairs now.

I wont be on much until it's fixed. I don't want a nasty cut from all the fractures.
:barnie glad it's an easy fix.

They diagnosed my kid w ibs when she was 8. They said to just way more fiber. They were wrong. (that dr was also a jerk & acted like she was faking).

I have some exciting news. As you all remember, our Standard poodle Sawyer passed away in Sept. My DH took it really hard and hasn't even wanted to discuss a puppy. I on the other hand found a breeder in southern Ohio that breeds red Standards. After researching lots of breeders I decided on this one. Retired school teachers, raise the puppies in their house. Have been breeding for 15 years. Website is wonderful with lots of pics of previous litters, pics of the puppies parents along with their health testing. They even have a poodle puppy every year and invite all previous puppies and their owners. Liked everything about them. So I had her put me on a waiting list. This was last Oct. Never told my DH as he didn't want to talk about a new puppy. I figured I'd cross the bridge when I came to it. Well I came to the bridge....the lady emailed me and said she has a litter due March 11th. The very next day out of the blue DH said. I think I'm ready to start thinking about a new puppy . Is that kismet or what? Needless to say we will be getting a puppy sometime in early May. Yippee!!!!
It's fate! So exciting! Will you get to go visit and pick which one you want before hand, or just pick from what they have when you get there?

I'd love to rent a dog til May. :gig
Some places let you foster one, but Idk if that would work for you.
